What is Stackable

Stackable is a discount app for Shopify. It lets you run several promotions at once, with clear rules for how they combine, and shows your deals on the storefront so shoppers actually see them.

In one sentence: Stackable lets you build discounts Shopify cannot build on its own, run several of them at the same time with predictable results, and show them to shoppers on your storefront. If that is all you need to know, jump straight to How campaigns work. The rest of this page explains the why, in increasing depth.

The problem it solves

Shopify’s built-in discounts are solid but deliberately simple. You get a handful of discount types, limited control over which discounts are allowed to combine, and nothing on the storefront that tells shoppers a deal exists. The moment you want a tiered "buy more, save more" ladder, a spend goal with a progress bar, or a free gift that adds itself to the cart, you are past what the native tools do.

  • Few discount shapes: no quantity tiers, no "2nd item half price", no automatic free gift.
  • Combination control is coarse: you can allow classes of discounts to combine, but there is no ladder logic and no plain-English preview of what a shopper will actually pay.
  • Silent deals: a discount that only appears at checkout does not change shopper behaviour on the product page or in the cart.

What Stackable adds

Stackable is built around campaigns: one simple rule each (a threshold, a reward, and the products it covers), stacked deliberately.

  • Six campaign types: Volume tiers, Buy X Get Y, Cart Goal, Free Shipping, Free Gift, and Bundle.
  • Deterministic stacking: every campaign lives in one lane (product, order, or shipping), two campaigns combine only when both allow it, and the builder explains the resulting order of operations in plain English before you publish.
  • Storefront widgets: a tier table, a sale badge, a countdown timer, a cart progress bar, a free-gift auto-add, a sale-price display, and a bundle builder, so shoppers see the deal where it changes their decision.
  • A simulator: test any cart against your live campaigns before shoppers do, so the preview you see is the checkout they get.
  • Plain-language everything: the builder shows a live worked example of your deal as you type.

How it fits into Shopify

Stackable does not bypass Shopify or rewrite prices in your theme. Every campaign you publish becomes a real Shopify discount, created through Shopify’s own discount platform and applied by Shopify at checkout. That means your discounts show up in the Shopify admin, respect Shopify’s combination rules, work with every payment method Shopify supports, and never depend on fragile theme tricks.

Tip

The full story of what Shopify does natively and exactly where Stackable extends it is on the next page, Stackable and Shopify discounts.

Who it is for

Merchants running more than one promotion at a time, stores moving off Shopify Scripts, wholesale and B2B stores that need quantity pricing, and anyone who wants shoppers to see a deal before checkout. Every feature is available on every plan; plans only differ in how many campaigns can be live at once.
