Run BOGO beyond Shopify's 100-product cap, with repeat logic native can't do
Running BOGO beyond the 100-product cap isn't possible with Shopify's native Buy X Get Y discount: it stops letting you add eligible products once you pass 100, and it only applies once per order. Stackable removes both limits and adds cheapest-item-free logic on top.
Merchants on the Shopify forums ask...
“Is there any app that behaves like native Buy X Get Y but works beyond 100 products, with cheapest-item-free and repeat logic like buy 6 get 2 free, buy 9 get 3 free?”
Shopify's Buy X Get Y discount type caps eligible products at 100 and applies once per order. A store with a 400-product catalog running "buy 3, get the cheapest free" storewide can't select every product, and a customer buying 9 items only gets the deal applied once, not three times.
How Stackable solves it

Select eligible products at any catalog size
No 100-product ceiling. Scope by tag or collection so new products opt in automatically as you add them.

Turn on repeat logic
"Buy 3, get 1 free" repeats automatically as cart quantity grows: 6 items gets 2 free, 9 gets 3 free, in one campaign.

Cheapest item is discounted automatically
The storefront cart marks the lowest-priced eligible item as free or discounted, and updates live as the cart changes.
Use it like this
An apparel store with 600 SKUs wants "buy any 3, cheapest free" across the whole catalog.
Eligible = all products, tag-based so new items auto-include. Buy quantity 3, get quantity 1, discount 100% off cheapest item, repeat on.
A cart with 9 mixed items gets 3 cheapest items free automatically, no manual campaign per collection and no 100-product selection limit hit.
A candle brand wants a milder offer than fully free.
Buy quantity 2, get quantity 1, discount 50% off the get item, scope = candle collection.
Every third candle in the cart from the eligible group is automatically half price, with a storefront badge reading "Buy 2, get 1 half off."
A snack brand's promo is "buy 6 bars, get 2 free," and it needs to double for a 12-bar cart.
Buy quantity 6, get quantity 2, repeat on, discount 100% off get items.
A 12-bar cart automatically gets 4 free bars, two repeats of the 6-for-2 set, matching exactly what the promo poster promised.
Common questions
Is there really no product limit?
Correct. Eligible products are defined by tag, collection, or an explicit list with no upper bound, so a 100-product cap never blocks a storewide promotion.
Can the discount repeat multiple times in one cart?
Yes. Turn on repeat logic and the buy/get ratio reapplies as quantities grow: a "buy 3 get 1" offer applies three times to a 12-item cart.
Does it always discount the cheapest eligible item?
That's the default and most common setup, but you can also fix the discount to a specific item or a percentage instead of always targeting the cheapest.
Does BOGO stack with a volume discount on the same product?
Both are product-class discounts, and Shopify applies at most one product discount per cart line; two on the same line is a Shopify Plus feature. By default every Stackable offer runs on its own, and the cart simulator shows exactly which offer applies to a sample cart before anything goes live.

Discount Stacking
How to stack discounts in Shopify comes down to settings the platform hides by default: every discount belongs to a class (product, order, or shipping), and whether two discounts combine is decided per offer, per class. Stackable puts those combine switches on every offer, so a volume tier, a spend goal, and free shipping add up exactly the way you configured them, every time.
Volume Discounts
Shopify quantity breaks, natively, pool every product in a collection toward one shared threshold. Stackable's tiers count the exact product, and only the variants you choose, so a chair buyer doesn't get a discount by adding three unrelated items to the cart.
Quantity Breaks
Per-product counting is the first question every quantity-based discount has to answer: what counts as "the same product"? Stackable gives you three explicit counting modes, per_variant, per_product, and per_group, so tiers, BOGO, and quantity breaks always count what you actually meant.
Install Stackable and start with BOGO / Buy X Get Y
Every offer type runs on the same server-side engine, so whatever you combine, the checkout math holds.
