Uninstalling Stackable

What happens when you remove Stackable, how to do it safely from inside the app, and what becomes of your data afterward.

You can remove Stackable at any time, and there is no lock-in. Because Stackable runs your discounts through Shopify’s own discount system rather than rewriting your product prices, uninstalling is clean: your store keeps working exactly as it did before you installed. This page explains what changes, the safest way to leave, and how your data is handled.

What happens when you uninstall

  • Shopify removes Stackable’s discounts, so they stop applying at checkout right away.
  • Your products, prices, and orders are untouched. Uninstalling never edits your catalog.
  • Your campaigns are paused, so nothing is left reading as “live” anywhere.
  • Your storefront widgets (badges, tier tables, progress bars) stop showing, because the app that powered them is gone.
Watch out

If you turned on channel price sync

Channel price sync is an opt-in feature that changes a product’s price so a sale shows on your storefront and in your sales channels. If you used it, revert those prices before you uninstall. Stackable can only restore the original prices while it is still installed, so the safe-uninstall flow below does this for you automatically.

How to uninstall

The safe way, from inside Stackable

  1. Open Stackable and choose Safe uninstall (in the app’s navigation, or from Settings).
  2. Review what will happen. If you have any synced prices to revert, you’ll see a prompt to revert them first.
  3. Optionally tell us why you’re leaving, or book a call if something isn’t working — this is never required.
  4. Click Uninstall Stackable and confirm. Stackable reverts any price edits, then removes itself from your store.
Tip

Why use safe uninstall

Safe uninstall reverts any price edits and pauses your campaigns cleanly before it removes the app, so nothing is ever left half-applied. It’s the same removal as doing it from Shopify’s settings, just with the tidy-up handled for you.

The manual way, from Shopify

You can also remove Stackable like any other app: in your Shopify admin, go to Settings, then Apps and sales channels, find Stackable, and uninstall it. If you used channel price sync, revert your prices in Stackable first, because after the app is removed it can no longer restore them.

What happens to your data

When you uninstall, your campaigns stop immediately and your Stackable data is kept for a short period in case you reinstall soon and want your work back. After that window it is permanently deleted. Any customer personal information is deleted in line with our privacy policy and Shopify’s data-protection rules. You don’t need to do anything for this to happen — it runs automatically.

Note

Changed your mind?

If you reinstall shortly after leaving, your campaigns are still there to pick up where you left off. Once the deletion window has passed, a fresh install starts clean.

When it makes sense to uninstall

There’s no downside to keeping Stackable installed if you’re not sure — an installed app with no live campaigns does nothing at checkout. But removing it is the right move if you’re done running stacked or volume discounts, you’re consolidating apps, or you’re handing the store to someone who won’t use it. Whatever the reason, use safe uninstall so your store is left exactly as Stackable found it.
